Introduction

This course is intended for you to practically learn about:

(1) Construction drafting where you practice on how to incorporate drawing conventions, building codes and specifications in your drawings. Here you will take a look in to the different building parts: Super structure and substructure. You will specify these parts in your drawing in a manner that they align with the general solidification documents.
Furthermore, you will know how to implement construction material and techniques in your drawings. During future semesters, you will specifically work on application of different materials and techniques, by working on separate drawings/ projects for application of each material. For this semester, you will be working on projects that have robust material usage/ integration in such a way that each use different materials in one building. Based on the project you are assigned with, you will study the number of construction materials and the construction techniques they require.

(2) Working drawings where you will prepare a complete set of detailed and complete documentation of a building that not only shows the general views of a building but that can be used for construction purposes. You're expected to prepare a complete set of working drawings with required detailed drawings, schedules, and specific and general notes.

Your drawings should be well numbered and indexed so that you can easily access and control different versions.

(3) You will coordinate drawings from different disciplines in the built environment such as Architectural, Sanitary, Electrical, HVAC, and Mechanical. Furthermore, you will coordinate your drawings documents with schedule and codes, standards and specification documents.

(4) You will hold Seminar on chosen innovative or relevant topic of construction technique, codes, standards, specifications, or coordination methods in the built environment. You will be in groups and research the topic you picked or assigned to you. You will present your findings in order to teach your classmates about them.
